Match 1995 Petite Rimmed Vase

Made by Match 1995
This rimmed vase is imagined as a modern urn — curvaceous containers, in classic proportions, with a larger capacity for flowers. While most match pieces are cast, these small treasures are spun from two discs of pewter—one for the body and another for the base. Spinning is a process by which a disc of pewter is rotated at high speed and formed into symmetrical shape. A high degree of skill is required to smoothly shape the final contours and details. The base is formed in a similar manner and joined to the body by soldering.
